    Indeed, quite agree Al

It misses out some interesting track that was included which i was also booked on

Be interesting whether anyone takes up the £20 off given you could have got £30 off last week!!!!

Hardly encourages you to book early with these various discounts which can't instill confidence in the market

With a 06.25 start from Preston it's not too great from the North. BUT it is running. It is pure steam. Happy days!

I believe the March 5th 'Tin Bath' has been cancelled.

So the Buxton Tin Bath it is then. One out of three is better than 0 out of 3 but you do have to ask whether tour operators think carefully enough about how they plan what they do. That said the Tin Bath may have had a pathing/loco availability problem.

Don't think it was a pathing issue as there were already times showing in RTT

Ovaltine and Chocolate Digestives and early to bed tonight in preparation for Stupid O'clock tomorrow. Oilskins at the ready for three hours in Buxton with typical Peak District winter weather. Spoonies could be a refuge.... Here's to a good day for all.

Load 10 so should have been a noisy climb of Miles Platting. No clips up yet.

The highlight of the tour was the no doubt the debut of 76084, but this was overshadowed by a volcanic Jubilee display up Miles Platting ! One of the highlights of the year for me so far. I would of liked to have chased the tour further, but poor weather ended that hope as can be seen in the video ! Hope you enjoy =:)

It looks as though the Buxton Tin Bath is coming to a satisfactory conclusion after an uneventful day. Hardly the weather to visit Buxton but I'm certain that the local traders appreciated the potential extra business and the owners of 76084 will have also appreciated the revenue.

Is it just worth pausing to ask a question? Which other TOC would be able to provide two steam crews to handle a double-header? And more to the point, has anyone also thought of the fact that it's probably a while since anyone from WCRC has driven a Standard 4?

Sometimes the obvious factors that might prevent a steam charter from running are the things that people either miss or take for granted. So well done to WCRC for delivering today. Please do the same again on March 18th to Whitby.

Do we know why the pilot loco didn't come on until after the ascent of Miles Platting?

I suspect it was more than just two steam crews today judging by the length of day involved

Terrific footage and a tremendous charter by all accounts. More of the same please.
The ascent of Platting bank emphasising the match of loco size and load to perfection.
