    Hi All

Came upon this photo from Tony Gillett, taken 3rd August 1966, denamed & filthy 70025 Western Star towing D3368 in the freight train, i know there were a lot of Steam/Diesel doubleheaders in the mid 60's but never seen one like this

Hang on Yankee tank you are not a mod. If the mods have a problem with Neil's posts, they will tell him.
Interesting photo Neil. The 08 is obviously ex-works, so it's probably going back to its home depot, which could be Lostock Hall. Perhaps one of the diesel fraternity could verify.

Surely though if the 08 was being towed any great distance then the rods would be off etc.

That must have been the slowest journey ever undertaken by a brit!!

Why? I think it's pretty decent of neildimmer to share his archive material with the rest of us. Particularly with such an interesting shot. As std tank says, if the mods have a problem then they will act. If Yankee Tank has a problem then he can choose not to view the post - just as I do with some topics.

Remember Yankee Tank and Simon, we live in a free democracy and we all have a choice, whether you like it or not.

Neil is perfectly entitled to post whatever he wants, frankly it's none of your business. If you don't like them, don't read them. It's as simple as that, sir.

Maybe it would be better if he posted all of his photos under a single topic in the Photography section, rather than creating new topics in this section?

    Quite.

I (and others) have already suggested this but it has fallen on deaf ears.

Why do you read topics if you don't like whats in them, as for the photo's, would you rather neil didn't share them with us, this nobody seeing them and all his archives being lost.

As somebody who wasn't around for the end of steam, I find it fasinating looking at how it used to be.

Please keep posting your pics neil, just because a few people don't like looking at them doesn't mean the majority of us don't.

You're all missing the point. Yes it's great to see all these new photographs, but why can't he post the links in a single "neildimmer photo updates" thread?

Why should he? For god's sake, I cant see what all the fuss is about. Neil's archive is a nice reminder of times past for some and a valuable resourse for others. Keep up the good work Neil.

It's just generally keeping the forum tidy, that's all. No big deal, just makes it easier to keep track of things. The way some people are reacting makes it sound like it's some kind of infringement of his human rights. Stop making such a drama out of one simple request.

I typed in capital letters because it was not the first time that I and other members of this forum, and the WNXX forum for that matter, have asked Mr Dimmer to keep his updates to one thread, that's all.
