Currently stripping Brake Van 955255 for an overhaul.
We do have some drawings of earlier vans but just wondering if anyone has a GA drawing of a BR Standard Brake Van ?

Looks like we have some timber work to replace.
What is the best timber to use for the main timbers? Oak? or something else?

I think that there is meant to be a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2 timber through here, side frame bottom.

All 4 corner posts will need at least new timber to be spliced in, maybe full replacement.
IMG_7279.JPG IMG_7277.JPG End screens and top rails also to replace. This had been clad with steel sheet hiding the rot.

    Another rotten corner post bottom.

    Finally a query.
Any idea as to the purpose of this hole in the screens?
Same position both ends and both sides
