    Just 2 weeks to our Modern Steam Conference - Sunday the 9th of October and there are a few places left.

    It'll be a great event to hear about Steam Locomotive Engineering in the 21st Century, whether that is recreating past icons for the 21st Century, New Concepts or using 21st Century Engineering Techniques on steam locomotives.

    Here's the programme .....

    10:00 – Doors open for registration etc.
    10:20 – Introduction – John Hind;
    10:30 – Electronic locomotive indicating trials by AST – Mike Horne and Jamie Keyte;
    11:15 – The design of the new Lynton & Barnstable 762 “Lyn” – Ian Gaylor;
    12:15 – The design of Joy valve gear for the Prince George project – Terry McMenamin;
    13:15 – Lunch and informal discussions;
    14:00 – A progress report on the P2 Project – David Elliott, Engineering Director;
    15:15 – An outline of the proposed K6 Project – David Gibson and Owen Jordan;
    16:15 – Wrap up – John Hind;
    16:30 – Informal discussions and socialising;
    17:00 – Meeting room closes.

    It's the same weekend as the KWVR gala, and the venue is at the White Lion, up the top of Main St.

    Advanced booking is required, £25 to non-members (including lunch) - so please email Chris Newman at info@advanced-steam.org if you want to come along.
