On time through a hazy Grateley this morning, though a few on the platform probably had a diesel unit blocking their view.
'28 quietly, but very cleanly, going about it's business as usual. =D>

Five minutes early thumping purposefully upgrade this evening through Woodborough. We could still hear her approching Pewsey.

Wasn't anyone else out to see '28 today?[attachment=0:1b6a0lyl]Clan Line passing Woodborough 15 Apr 09.jpg[/attachment:1b6a0lyl]

20 mins EARLY into Theale (just before 19:15). Left Theale 25 mins EARLY (19:35). Basically it left Theale when it was due to arrive! Pulled away well, blowing off. Dead 67024 on the rear. Hope anyone waiting further down the line didn't miss out due to the early running which seems to be the norm lately.

The schedule between Westbury and Theale did seem very slack, although the train seemed to be slotted into the usual time slot past Woodborough. The stone train that is usually sitting in the Woodborough Loop ( and was let out just in front of 70013 a fortnight ago (fortunately the signals cleared about a minute before 70013 appeared, so I think it had a clear run to the summit at Savernake) was nowhere to be seen tonight.

Western Bulleid: That explains the early running then! Thanks, I hope you enjoyed the ride.

Aperture: There's never been much novelty about Clan Line since she was rebuilt (at least not since the air braking was fitted). She just goes about her business, setting the standard, thanks to a superb support crew.

Ok, yes I am biased before you ask, being a MNLPS member, though sadly work prevents me getting my fingerprints on the loco (I couldn't possibly have said getting my hands dirty, given her usual condition now could I?

Maybe its just that people prefer to take photos of motley rakes of carriages....
