34046 Braunton moved under her own steam from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard today. I understand she will soon move by road from there to Ian Riley's.

Blimey, how many Bulleids will there be at Ian Riley's works when 34046 gets there?

For the air braking to be completed and commissioned,
and the driving wheels to be removed, retyred and refitted.
Also main line certification to be completed.

This sounds good news. Thanks for the detail, David. It has been a long haul to return 34046 to the main line, with all manner of unexpected delays, but it sounds like the waiting is nearly over. It will be great to see another Bulleid on the main line, and although there seem to be several MN's in the pipeline, Braunton looks like the only rebuilt Light Pacific we will see on the main line for a while to come.

I hope this will include main line testing up north David?
Had a run behind 34046 on the WSR on 21/8/11, was very impressed and thats from an LMS man!

    Regards,
    John

Great to see '46 inching closer to her mainline debut. Let's hope all goes smoothly and no more nasty surprises.

How many Bulleids will be on-site at Riley's?

They way things are going with all the Bulleid's at Bury it might be easier for Riley's to take over Eastleigh and move lock stock and barrel.

    34046, 34073, 35009, 35022, 35027. So that's a whopping big 5!!

(or 6 if 35018 ever shows up)

I wonder when the first double-header featuring 34067 and 34046 will happen? Its been a while since the last (was it 34027 and 35028 in 2000?), although admittedly it is going a bit over the top power-wise...

I remember that pairing of 34027 & 35028 well. I saw them racing through Winchfield in the twilight, whistles blowing. A spinetingling experience. I hope we get to see 34046 & 34067 working together at some point.

They are advertised to haul the Great Britain V from Bristol to Penzance on the 28/4/12. If this happens i expect there will be a day trip, which will bring them back from Penzance

Maybe The Royal Duchy. Last year 44871 and 70013 hauled The Royal Duchy then ran GB IV and this year 45305 and 70013 ran GB V then ran The Royal Duchy. 34046 and 34067 is a combo I want to see. I don't think a Spam Can and Rebuild Bulleid have double headed on the mainline in Preservation have they?

More likely to have a doubleheaded Scot/Jubilee combination before two Scots.
