I remember watching 241P6 depart Nevers with a very long express for Le Mans, in August 1966 - what an experience! Unfortunately, my parents had gone sightseeing in the town, and taken the camera with them.

The Google translation of the original webpage gives you a reasonable idea of what's happening:
    http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...%20241P9/index.htm&sl=fr&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

According to the new location's website http://www.241p9.fr (again a Google translation):

"One of its goals in the first place is to revive the steam locomotive 9 P 241 belonging to "the Association of Alumni and Friends of the Steam Traction" national association that brings together 12 sections including the Midi Pyrenees which will be in charge of the restoration works of the "P9".

To be more precise we embark on the rehabilitation of the steam locomotive 241 P 9 so as to obtain, after the SNCF IN1419, the approval of movement and of course, to organize special trips to throughout France."

i'm liking the french word for railway enthusiasts- 'ferrovipaths'. much catchier than the similarly etymologised 'ferroequinologists' which i once heard
