2016 August - Victorian Day

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Karen Willans, Aug 15, 2016.

Sunday 14 August - A step back in time

Visitors to Wharf may have wondered if our Booking Hall was some sort of time warp - as they went through into a Victorian extravaganza on the platform.

Several passengers from the Midlands and Denbigh had travelled to Tywyn (Towyn on Sea?) in fantastic Victorian costumes to travel on the Victorian Specials. Wharf platform hosted authors Pauline Hazelwood and Sara Eade as 'meeters and greeters'. Paul Perryman's slate splitting demonstration was also back, with several volunteers and our General Manager having a go.

Passengers were entertained with Victorian dancing demonstrations at Wharf and Abergynolywn.

Thanks to everyone involved in organising the event, looked like great fun!
