The milestone was passed on February 3, almost ten months to the day since the share issue was launched on April 6 by ‘GlosWarks’ President, Pete Waterman.

The ‘GlosWarks’ wants to raise a total of £1.2million for its extension to Broadway, four miles from its headquarters at Toddington. It is hoped to have the station open for the 2018 season.

The news comes just weeks after the railway celebrated its most successful year to date, carrying over 100,000 passengers for the first time since the railway re-opened in 1984.

Work on the extension is progressing well, as the current railhead is only a quarter of a mile from Broadway, and in sight of the former goods shed.
