I'll be on it, finances permitting. Some pretty useful bits of track for my steam map:

    1. Ardwick Jc.- Heaton Norris Jc. (also, will the Terminus platforms at Piccadilly be used? If so, both of these are rare these days)

    2. Shrewsbury - Wolverhampton - New Street - Tyseley in the up direction (although Vintage Trains have done much of this before, I haven't! 'The Border Raider' branched off for Bescot, Perry Barr and Soho S Jc. on the return)

    3. A mildly embarrassing omission on the map, but there's a well-known, well-trodden section a bit later on the outward journey!

    4. A few northbound stretches on the Walsall line, Shrewsbury - Crewe and 1 & 2 above.

So, overall a pretty solid day out over an interesting route.

I'm guessing it'll take the direct route Piccadilly-Stockport? Handy for my house.

    Stabled overnight at Longsight?

Looks like an interesting trip with an unusual itinerary. I imagine the servicing and turning of 60163 will be at Tyseley?

May just turn on the Hatton triangle (involves a trip to/from Dorridge these days)?

Seriously busy week as 60163 is doing a Preston-Shap-Bypassing Carlisle to Appleby(layover)-Blackburn-Crewe on the 11th August and 'the reverse itinerary; Crewe-Blackburn-S&C North-Appleby layover-bypassing Carlisle again-WCML to Crewe on Wednesday the 15th August.
