Deepgreen you may well be correct but if you watch the end of mr Knowwun's excellent video as the diesel clears the viaduct there seem to be a couple of red flashes that you get from a tail light, but certainly not sure. And btw that is a magnificent shot.

Certainly had a working flashing red lamp on one of the brackets when it passed me at Maidenbower, south of Three Bridges.

Thanks to everyone who posted pictures and Mr Knowwun for the video. A very enjoyable trip - must say I rather like these shorter tours where you don't have to get up at half past stupid and you get back in time for dinner! This one has the added attraction that you do actually get some time off the train as well. I had never been to Eastbourne in my life so it something a bit different. Some new track to cover too - Keymer Jct to Hastings and that little bit through Bat & Ball on the way back. An interesting route this one, with some challenging gradients on the Hastings to Tonbridge line which 70013 seemed to cope with pretty well. not sure if it was getting any assistance from the rear - I don't think so. 70013 made plenty of noise as ever!

Thanks to RTC, WCRC and the 5305 guys for making it all possible. Looking forward to another run with Ollie next week.

I'm glad to be wrong then - we don't want any silly mistakes putting anything in jeopardy. My thought was based on looking at my series of shots as the train receded in thick smoke at Hooley where the red light was not visible - it's just possible that its flashing coincided with the interval between my shots!

Lovely video. 70013 sounds in fine format there. Also a nice picture from James on the other side of the viaduct.

I keep missing these local tours for various reasons (although the redevelopment of Haywards Heath Station means good photos are more difficult to take).

I nearly booked on the trip with 60009 from home (the station is literally in front of the residential area I live in), to Bath and Bristol but was cancelled anyway.
