Not really as it's in a cutting, and it's 20 minutes so probably a splash of water.

Pleasington is a better bet with a long straight approach to the bridge at the end of the platform, and it's just a mile from Cherry Tree so she will be working all the way towards you.

They are "very likely" to be hauled by either Leander or Galatea.

    Oh I am torn now.....

Never had Galatea before so that would be nice for me, but its my little un's first mainline trip and I had loads of trips (including Santa Specials up the Cumbrian Coast) with Leander with my dad when I was little so there would be a lovely symmetry to that!

This is a West Coast charter. Why would they not use one of their own locomotives? Logically my guess is either the 8F or their Jubilee.

That's what I was getting at Al in them using the 8f . Small wheels on Wilpshire should help if its dodgy rail conditions on the day .

Having a choice of motive power could well mean the selection would be made a couple of days before, dependent on the weather forecast.

Credit where credits due, we don't often applaud West Coast, but well done to them for being transparent and just answering a question on the loco choice of a tour on social media, when before we'd have to interpret ambiguous comments on here.

They could have easily just replied a generic 'It will hauled by one of our steam trains' but they gave the customer all the information they have, something normal TOCs are encouraged to do.

You have better insight but, presuming all loco choices fit and available, can you think of a reason the 8F would not be used for this job?
