A few shots of D9009 'Alycidon' on Pathfinder Tours' The Swanage Belle, captured at Denchworth crossing at first light (quite literally, the sun rose above the horizon as the Deltic reached the bridge in the distance!) and racing towards Mortimer.

Hi, I have heard this tour should have left swanage about an hour ago but is still there. Does anyone know why it is still there please?

    Brake issues I am told.
Not sure the tour is very popular here as it had an extra coach that played havoc with the station operation (or should that be lack of operation) which led to a cancelled service train and another one held at Harmans Cross (en route to Norden) for over 30 minutes so the Deltic could pass it. The latter caused by the brake issue.

Yes I am an active volunteer
I snatched up 6 locations yesterday with the further two I had planned abandoned due to other commitments. It was a long day...

I believe I was standing next to you at this point!

Indeed you were Will RL plus you too had the long wait for the return. At least at Harmans Cross we were getting to hear the odd piece of news of what was happening. Glad I did not bother with the walk to (and steep walk back) from Dickers Crossing (as you did) which is my favourite spot on the line.

Thanks for that; it's rather splendid :)

Was that the stock that used to run as a pseudo-Pullman service in a different livery about 15 years ago?

They've been repainting their old mk2 rakes - IIRC they were in their original Virgin and turquoise Anglia liveries?
