Is the corporate strategy defined as such or is it more ad hoc? Some elements seem to be traditionalist whilst others are innovatory - bit muddled.

And this is the correct answer, owners decision, he paid to restore it for everyone's use, if they want, he does not answer to the livery police.

And they must have a big pot of black paint to get through at WCRC!!!!.

True but as ways of running a business go it's a bit Ratneresque.

Not quite sure what point is being made but 45699 was bought from Woodhams as a donor for 5690 by the latter's first preservation era owners. SVR eventually disposed of it to a charitable trust whose major patron may be in common with 35018.

Std tank (above) got the three John. Had not thought about the ATC but you are correct there. However you do have to look hard to see it below and behind the buffer beam.

Mr Smith has been at the head of WCRC for quite some time now, policy and way of working hasn't changed, and the last time I looked the WC business didn't look to be doing too badly. If the customers keep coming back they must be doing something right.

Well it is true, the business seems to have weathered recent storms notably the two perilously close calls as regards operating licence not to mention as issues affecting the southern base. Hang on though, was that not on condition said individual relinquished control? Perhaps success despite rather than because? A general is only as good as his army afterall.

Please remind me which locos does WCRC actually own / part own to the extent that they could, of they so wished. paint in their own 'livery'. BIL, 48151, Scots Guardsman, Galatea, Tangmere ?

    5972 (but of course)

Tangmere - not so sure, but I think this is partial ownership? All of the above are 100% Carnforth, under whatever operating name I believe.

Possibly yes. Bodmin? 249 Squadron? I'm not sure if anyone apart from West Coast know the actual ownership of them?

Isn't Bodmin the one due an imminent test run?
There is several trading entities related to the railway activities and a Wakefield based umbrella company. Galatea was owned by a charitable trust set up to effect it's transfer of ownership from another trust IIRC.

I don't think they own any of them, they are owned by a separate trust.
