As far as I'm aware, the railtour is going via Dundee and not Stirling tomorrow. No. 45212 is currently scheduled to run to Bo'ness this afternoon, where it'll tie up with the tour stock in preparation for hauling Edinburgh to Dundee tomorrow.

Is 60103 taking the tour to Edinburgh today??? What a great start to the GBX.

It seems to be a tightlipped desicison, steam or diesel north of York???

Did 60009 make it to the NRM Yesturday, lots of footage of its run from carnforth??

The low level path and view are OK from the north east side, although the train is far more covered by the bridge sides than from the higher level. Last time I was there, it wasn't easy to gain much height from the path as the terrain is very gorse and thorn ridden up to the cliffs, but there are some gaps if you're persistent. I think that most years the residents up top have allowed people into their garden, but obviously it's not guaranteed, so a backup plan is needed.

I gather that it's a diesel north of York today?

Looked a reasonable speed from the lineside. Looking like just one steam shot today as traffic on the A1 means I missed the 2nd shot.

Major disruption on the ECML this morning. A broken rail on the up line means all trains are currently disrupted between Peterborough and Newark.

The GB was the last train to go north of Grantham without issue, I'm currently sat in the end of an HST coach, having been on this train for nearly 90 minutes - we've moved less than 2 miles. It's ok though, we've got free wifi...

Those on board have been told it's a diesel north of York. There's always a chance the NRM have a last minute change of heart, but it seems unlikely.

Wonder if it gets retimed or if it will have to stay in its path for the logistics of such an operation. I can imagine that it would need to keep to its path for the arrival at Edinburgh but with the distruption express timings are all over the place and wont want to get stuck. So I can imagine its pulled over in other places and in some allowed to continue. Will be a lot harder to chase if it doesn't stop and is doing its permitted speed!

It's not uncommon with diesel substitution to cut the water stops to allow an earlier arrival as some compensation for those onboard, but I've no gen whether this will be the case today.

Confirmed 47746 'Chris Fudge', now moved on 0Z68 from the NRM to Holgate to collect the train, in place of 60009.

Approaching Hambleton under cloudy skies just before noon, with Eggborough power station in the background.

I might be the only one to get a shot of No 9 near Darlington today. Just seen a Bachman model at NRM Shildon!
