    i think that was a Saint That Mr Gasson mentioned. Took out the signalbox as I recall. There was a fatal accident in 1942 and I think that might be the one Gasson refers to. The accident with 7311 looks like a minor run through the bufferstops.

    Yes I believe so, all 4 were (after conversion/Lourdes traffic use) went into SR departmental use or sold the the Army. 4438 was sold for preservation but then scrapped 4444 Ex Army sold to the Bluebell 4449 was sold fro preservation but then...

    Henley would work as would Marlow and handy for Didcot in both cases. Just replace the regular trains for the day or weekend

    Don't think that would work like that, don't forget that you really need to limit the load to 5 max to ensure the runs up the valley can keep to a tight time to fit amongst service trains. 2 trips a day would be enough as you have to find the...

    Inchicore works shunter "Sambo" would be a contender for least travelled. Built there 1912 and used there all it's career, until 1962 not even being numbered and scrapped there

    I'd suggest one of the USA built 0-6-2ts for the Barry Rly. Or if you want a sensible answer in the sprit of the post, weren't some GWR panniers built in Scotland? Certainl Warships and Class 22 were.
