I went on the Sunday and really enjoyed myself. It didn't seem to busy and I got a seat on all the trains. Really liked Fenchurch and No. 29, nice to see the little engines take centre stage. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]

Really great to see these back in use, the variety of carriages at the SVR really are something special. Regards galas, you will never please everyone - especially not railway enthusiasts who are notoriously fickle!

An interesting debate but it's very much a personal viewpoint and just because a particular gala doesn't "rock your boat" it doesn't mean to say it's bad. There are a great number of events going on and unless you have unlimited time and money...
