The manual as supplied to railways that Swanage Railway Bulleid pacifics run on states 'a well filled back end'.

    So back to the T9...

It will be interesting to see if 30120 gets another overhaul in 2020 and remains at Swanage longer term.

The end of the boiler ticket seems a sensible time to run the agreement to for now though. The situation can then be accessed and both the NRM and Swanage railway can decide if they are agreeable to another overhaul.

Odd that the T9 still hasn't been to Okehampton. Akin to not taking a Manor to the Cambrian or, a Brit to Norwich or, a B1 to Harwich Parkeston, all of which have happened, amongst many other homecomings over the years.

A WELL FILLED BACK END :eek:
As regards bulleids i always found that a saucer shaped fire worked best , plenty under the door then sides and front , with the middle left light you certainly needed to keep the bottom of the sythons well covered

In the latest Steam Railway, a Swanage railway spokesman is quoted as saying they have exciting plans for the T9.

I wonder what these exciting plans could be?

    Mainline certification?
Return to LSWR livery to match the T3?

i hope the plan isnt to repaint her into LSWR livery, if, and hopefully when the T3 steams hopefully in LSWR livery they will have 2 pre grouping southern 4-4-0's one in the livery they entered service in to the final livery of the last few i happen to think the 1950's livery suits the T9 .
As regards mainline certification I can imagine a few people having moist trouser syndrome over the possibility of an Maunsel mogol &T9 combo

'Moist Trouser Syndrome' Cheers Martin I've nearly suffered from that myself by nearly spraying beer over my own pair! I think a 31806 and 30120 combo has already happened in 2012 when they visited the SVR.

It did indeed happen but I think it was only on a charter not normal service

I was at Kiddy when they both came rolling in from Bridgo with a service train, 30120 then worked a local to Arley and 31806 followed on a full line service, I think that was the Friday of the SVR's Autumn Gala in 2012.

Off to the Flour Mill soon for a pre overhaul assessment, apparently.
