Couldn't see a thread for this one so here goes -

    http://www.wsr.org.uk/news.htm#1190

Guests / non long term residents -
    • BR(W) 4-6-0 number 7820 'Dinmore Manor'
    • BR(W) 4-6-0 number 7822 'Foxcote Manor'
    • BR(S) 4-6-2 number 34046 'Braunton', expected to be running as 34052 'Lord Dowding'
    • BR 4-6-0 Standard Class 5 number 73082 'Camelot'
    Alongside residents - 6960 'Raveningham Hall', 44422, 53808 and 53809.

I imagine the two industrial tanks will be pottering about too.

The news item on wsr.org also mentions the 2018 events and dates for them.

Strange as they announced the visit of 73082 months ago and citing lack of time as the reason.

WSR usually good at getting replacement locomotives, lets see what they can do this time.

    Timetables -
    Thursday
    Friday
    Saturday
    Sunday

Could anyone tell me do the industrials usually work trains/brake van rides or do they just potter about in yards?

They normally do shunting demonstrations in Washford Yard. However I do remember at least one recent gala where the Peckett "Kilmersdon" was giving short rides at Minehead using the restored Somerset & Dorset coach.

If 6023 is to heavy then how are they going to test run 6024?

Like how they did at Quainton, get 9466 to run it up and down the line without its boiler. ;)

Why would 6023 be too heavy when 6024 has run on the line many times?

'And the mystery loco is.....care of our friends at the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway who have very kindly come to our aid at the 11th hour, with a bit of arm twisting.....Standard Class 4, 4MT no. 75014 'Braveheart'. We think this is a rather good substitute for the Standard 5!'

  16. Not too enticing a gala tbh lucky I can cancel hotels and get the money back, Can see the numbers being down but it doesn't matter given the Scotsman winfall even after they didn't sell them out.

Speak for yourself. The first runs away from Devon for 75014 since she left the NYMR 15 years ago.

That's a brilliant replacement, was hoping for something bigger in replacement of 34046(52)
