Pleased to see that Clan Line and the TBEx get priority pathing over the Duchy. If you are in the right place tomorrow at Tiverton Junction then you will get a shot of 28 flying passed the Scot as it takes water and waits in the loop.

Weather is thoroughly miserable with rain and strong winds down here at mo, thoughts are with the driver and firemen in conditions like these. Best of luck to both crews.

46100's registration ran out on 17th Aug. Not renewed!! Been stopped at end of WSR metals. No idea if it will be allowed on to NR.

Duchy has headed out from BTM - just 8 coaches behind a 57 and only 7 with passenger accommodation which might suggest why there have been so few this year.

    It won't - diesel-hauled throughout, I'm afraid.

On the face of it it does seem to be an unforgivable cock up. Mind you, a similar thing happened to Tornado not so long ago when it was waiting to take over a tour at York. A paperwork issue prevented it from leaving the NRM yard onto NR metals. Computer said no.

  10. Duchy with 57 on through Whiteball a short time ago. Bloody awful weather! Now to see what Clanline can pull out of the bag in these awful conditions!

Clan Line looked superb passing through platform 6 At Exeter St Davids. That really whetted my appetite for a trip over the South Devon banks behind 6100. To my horror train arrived behind a class 57 diesel. Did not board so waiting for next train back to Totnes. What a waste of time and money!

If these reports are correct thats very bad. Particularly as havnt it's owners just completed the first stage of becoming a TOC in their own right? This kind of thing does not augur well for it's success!

I sure it is easy to forget, I doubt you get a renewal letter from NR like you do from the DVLC for the car.
Mind you in the age of computers ought to be able to set a reminder somewhere.

Not Loco Services finest hour I guess with this and the coal issue on the last trip.

This is an entirely avoidable cock-up, and the sort of thing that puts me off booking for steam tours. If you're taking people's money for a steam tour, you make sure that you have all the ducks lined up in place.

A bit unfortunate to say the least that it was allowed to go down from Southall. If a flag had been raised at that point there might have been time to fix the paperwork.

It would be only fair to expect that, whatever the root cause, those responsible do the right thing by the customers let down.

Could it be that the paperwork was submitted, but the NR computer had not been told, something that I believe has happened in the past.

Out of interest, do operators have a way of checking paperwork is in order? It seems strange that this type of thing only emerges on the day.

S3090002.jpg What could have been the meeting of the two steam tours today at Tiverton Loop.
