As a regular user of RTT,I have noticed that if a move is activated exactly 2 hours before booked departure it usually does not run - this was activated at 8.00 for 10.00 !!
On that basis,I think the rumours of the run being put back to Friday are correct

Automatic activation 2 hours before 1000 departure. No sign of movement on the Railcam diagram at 1130. AN

This service was cancelled throughout due to a delay not investigated (OU).

Must have seen the contrasting weather forecasts and decided to disappoint the photters by running in the rain tomorrow instead :)

I'd like to see it come out in something other than the green the majority of Bulleids are running in

Mrs W fancied a chicken & bacon with lettuce and mayo, I had to explain! On possibly a more serious note, has anyone else heard that 35018 will be given a new name more appropriate to its location whilst retaining the shipping line theme, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. Now that would get a few Southern fans reaching for their Kwells.

Kwells. Now there's a 'blast from the past' I didn't know they were still marketed, they've been on the go for a lot of years.

Sounds like a good idea as it will routinely be running in the locality of where IOMSPC operates. Maybe a trundle down the Heysham branch or to Morecambe for a renaming ceremony? :)

I think you are confusing your "Steam Packet Companies", Ralph - The Caledonian one served the Clyde not the Isle of Man.

No not confusing them as all, I was not responding to the previous post just throwing another shipping company name into the ring.

It wouldn't have been too difficult to get names for another ten or twenty MNs. Court Line, Denholms, Constantine and Runcimans come to mind for a start even if scarcely in the league of P and O, Cunard and Union Castle!

I seem to recall a shortlived CalMac service from Campbeltown to Douglas a few years ago, although I could be mistaken!

Oh I see Ralph - but the previous post (from Oswald T W) was suggesting naming the loco after a local shipping company and neither CalMac nor its constituents are exactly local to the Carnforth area, hence my misunderstanding of your suggestion. As you see I am easily confused.
