Thanks. So at some stage, this boiler has had the regulator gland moved to the LHS. Do you know if this was done in Hungary (or wherever the current boiler is from) or in the UK?

We have 3x boilers for the 2x Yanks, and I'm unsure what's on what at present. So I can't honestly answer your question I'm afraid.

Hi, I'm keen to keep up to date with the restoration of the 8F.

Is there a website, Facebook page or blog I can access?

    Thanks..

OAPway have been out for the last couple of weeks working on the track geometry of the line in the 'tunnel' at Bradnop. Always a bit damp there and a couple of dips had developed giving a slightly bouncy ride. It has now been dug out, levelled and re-ballasted all ready for the double headed S160 spectacular up to Ipstones this coming weekend. Using 1 ton bags of ballast takes a little longer than the ballast hoppers but easier to get it into the right places in a controlled manner.

This will be the last chance for a good while this weekend, to see double headed S160s taking on the gradient up to Ipstones. Not to be missed. P1013250.JPG P1013250.JPG P1013250.JPG

The B&W is very powerful, you must have been stood roughly where Jeff was when he took his pics above?

A short video of the S160s from the Sunday - I'll bring a tripod next time.
You may notice things getting a bit fiery underneath 6046 on the incline.

Nice one and better weather than Saturday. Good spot that above bridge 7 but we do need permission to be filming from lineside.

Public footpath crossing north of "illegal", so no permission needed to be there, as such.
Just remember to be well out of the way when things get close, hence the break in the footage.
