    After the pub lunch?

OK I know you would never imbibe and go back trackside.

Could I please ask for some detail on the Cauldon Lowe trips next week?
Is it 6046 that is working these and will it be solo or with a diesel banker?
Finally is it on 6 coach set?

    Thank you.

The only thing I'd add to Neil's post is that the rake used for Santa services had the CVR 6 coaches plus one Chocolate and Cream coach on loan from the NYMR, so plenty of seating.

I understand that 6046 has had a repair done and is the working loco this weekend for the Cauldon trips. Will it be solo or will it have the class 33 banking.

    Thanks for any information.

I understand from what i've heard lately that churnet valley now officially own the cauldon lowe branch having bought it off M&CR? Also told that the leek station plan has been moved onto the backburner for a while & that efforts are concentrating on the stoke branch instead.

Anyone got images/phots of where the branch would've originally connected with NR metals? On leaving stoke on a derby service where the derby line branches off & curves left I guessed it was somewhere near that, what expansion plans have the railway got now? Hope cauldon lowe branch can be re-opened fully back up to ipstones again & that a full through service can be run from cheddleton on a more regular basis as opposed to the current setup of cauldon lowe trains on certain evenings.

Suggest you visit at the steam gala in February. The line is fully operational up to Ipstones but it would be nice to relay the line to Cauldon Low. The Ipstones service runs on about 12 weekends a year plus the gala

If you look at south of Stoke station on Google Earth the line can be traced easily enough , near the Derby line like you say

There's just a few panels missing where they have erected a chain link fence; quite easy to see.

On a really windy day a miscellany of tasks. Track supports over a stream being packed and track adjustments in the bay platform as Hotspur seems to have put on weight and width over Christmas. Also some shots around the yard including the austerity tank before departure.

Is the austerity, going offsite for overhaul or is it leaving the Churnet Valley?

A couple of news items have been released, concerning 68030 and a new dining service for 2017.
